Private Trauma-Informed Yoga
Private Trauma-Informed Yoga
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for a full range of motion.
I offer 60 minute private trauma‑informed yoga sessions one‑on‑one or in small groups for individuals with trauma histories, as well as anyone seeking to strengthen the connection between mind and body. Every session is tailored to your unique needs, goals, and comfort level. Whether you prefer a gentle, restorative practice, a flowing sequence, or something more physically challenging, I adapt the pace and intensity to support you. I prioritize safety, choice, and empowerment by using invitational language and offering pose modifications. You are always in control of your experience and encouraged to move in ways that feel supportive for your body.
Through mindful movement, breathwork, grounding techniques, and present moment focus, yoga can help regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and strengthen the connection between mind and body. Coordinating breath with movement helps you become more attuned to your body’s sensations, while intentionally slowing and deepening the breath sends signals of safety to the brain, helping shift the nervous system out of survival mode and into a more regulated state. Over time, many people experience greater self-trust, improved emotional regulation, increased resilience, and a deeper sense of safety and connection within themselves. Trauma-informed yoga can be a powerful complement to psychotherapy or a meaningful standalone practice for healing and personal growth.
My teaching is rooted in the Jivamukti Yoga tradition, which means “liberation while living.” Grounded in the principles of scripture, devotion, nonviolence, sound, and meditation, this practice encourages compassion, self awareness, and mindful living. Depending on your preferences, I may incorporate mantra (chanting), meditation, music, or yogic philosophy to deepen your practice. These elements are adapted to your comfort level, with safety, autonomy, and awareness remaining the foundation of every session.
