Art Therapy for PTSD and Complex Trauma (CPTSD) in Cleveland, Ohio

Art Therapy

I provide 60 minute art therapy sessions that combine the creative process with psychotherapy to help you explore emotions, process trauma, and develop healthier ways of coping. You do not need to be artistic or have any previous art experience to benefit from art therapy. Together, we will explore a variety of materials, such as drawing, painting, collage, or sculpture, and choose approaches that feel most supportive for you. You remain in control of what you create and how much you share.

Art therapy offers another way to express experiences that may be difficult to put into words. Throughout the session, we naturally move between creating artwork and reflecting on the process. Sometimes the artwork becomes the window into thoughts, emotions, patterns, or life experiences that may be outside of conscious awareness. Other times, the creative process itself helps you reconnect with your body, emotions, and inner strengths. Looking back at your artwork over time can also provide a meaningful way to recognize patterns, celebrate growth, and track your progress throughout the healing journey.

Every session is collaborative, individualized, and paced according to your comfort and needs. Rather than focusing on artistic ability or the finished product, the emphasis is on self-expression, self discovery, and healing. Over time, art therapy can strengthen emotional awareness, foster self compassion, expand coping skills, and create a tangible record of your healing that you can revisit as a reminder of how far you’ve come. All materials are included.
