Counseling for PTSD and Complex Trauma (CPTSD) in Cleveland, Ohio
Counseling
I offer 60-minute trauma-focused counseling sessions. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic, attachment-based, relational and somatic therapies. This means that I believe we often hold onto unconscious experiences that are too painful to process, and these can contribute to emotional distress, mental health symptoms, and a disconnection between mind and body. Early attachment experiences with caregivers and ongoing relationships shape who we are, and the therapeutic relationship becomes a container for healing. Healing involves working with both mind and body to reconnect with ourselves, others, and the world.
Together, we will explore the experiences, patterns, and beliefs that may be contributing to your current struggles while helping your nervous system develop a greater sense of safety. This is not to place blame on the past, but rather to understand how these experiences have shaped you so you can move forward with greater clarity, self-compassion, and confidence. Healing means understanding the deeper roots of emotional pain while creating new experiences that help your nervous system feel safer and more regulated.
Sessions may combine talk therapy with EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), art therapy, and somatic therapy so we can address you as a whole person, not just your symptoms. You are in control of deciding which method will best support you that day.
Whether you’re navigating trauma’s effects, managing anxiety or depression, facing relationship challenges, grieving, coping with life transitions, or feeling stuck in recurring patterns, I offer a compassionate, collaborative, and confidential space where healing can unfold at your own pace. I typically recommend weekly sessions at the start of treatment to build momentum and support lasting change; biweekly sessions may be appropriate depending on your needs, goals, and circumstances.
