Christine Check is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Board-Certified, Licensed Art Therapist. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Art from the University of Tampa in 2004, and a Master’s degree in Art Therapy and Clinical Counseling from Ursuline College in 2008.
Since 2011 she has been in private practice, working with adults and children who are navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, with a specialization in childhood, complex, and sexual trauma and sexual abuse
She also provides on-site group and individual services to underserved populations, such as survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and homelessness.
She uses trauma-informed, attachment-focused, and strength-based approaches, blending talk and experiential methods. Drawing from the latest neuroscience, each session is personalized to guide you toward peace and mind-body connection.
She is currently practicing EMDR under consultation while completing training in an EMDRIA-approved program (expected completion March 2026). In addition to her clinical endeavors, she is certified in Thai Massage (2018) and recently completed a 200-hr yoga teacher training program (2026).
INDEPENDENT WELLNESS PRACTITIONERS:
Peace of Art Therapy also hosts a community of independent wellness practitioners who offer additional services from the same space. Each practitioner brings their own unique expertise, creating opportunities for you to explore healing in a collaborative and integrative environment.
Once you begin working with these practitioners, you will schedule and pay directly with them. This allows for individualized care while maintaining the flexibility and autonomy that support meaningful therapeutic work.
At Peace of Art Therapy, every element - from the atmosphere to the services offered - is designed to help you find peace, clarity, and resilience through whichever methods best support your personal journey.
